Watford manager Quique Sanchez Flores claims the club never had plans to sign Juan Iturbe from Roma.

The winger is now expected to join Bournemouth on loan when the transfer window opens in just over a week's time.
Sanchez Flores says Watford have already identified their January targets and Iturbe was never one of them.
"We have other names and, if we can get these names for Watford in January, it will be perfect," said Sanchez Flores.
"If not we will continue the players we have but this player is not in our plans.''

Liverpool FC transfer news: Jurgen Klopp planning quiet transfer window

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not planning a busy January in the transfer window despite the club lining up a deal for Red Star Belgrade youngster Marko Grujic.

The Reds have a £5.1million deal lined up which would see the 19-year-old midfielder loaned back to his cash-strapped club for the rest of the season.
However, nothing can be completed until the window officially opens on January 1 and it is understood Reds officials are still wary about it going through as Russian clubs CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg have offered at least £7.3million - a figure Liverpool will not match.
Klopp was non-committal on Grujic, despite Serbian newspaper Telegraf quoting the midfielder as saying: "I'm going to Liverpool. People from Liverpool want me but will allow me to keep my desire to stay for the second half of the season; this is evident in their every move during previous negotiations".
"There is nothing to tell about that," Klopp said on the player's proposed move.
"We try to be prepared all the time but this window in January is not the easiest one.
"There are big prices in the market so I am not the biggest friend of the January transfer window but if we have to react to it we will react to it.
"Maybe a player will leave us, I don't know, if he comes to me and says something but it is not a situation I want.
"Maybe we have to react if we have another injury because we have a lot of games in the transfer window.
"We are not planning only to get more and more players, that is not how I think we should work, but if we have to react we will do it."

West Ham star James Collins pens new deal

James Collins has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension with West Ham.

The 32-year-old centre-back would have been out of contract at the end of the season but he has now committed himself to the Hammers until the summer of 2018.
"To be signing for another two years, I can't explain how happy I am to be part of a club that is moving forward and getting bigger and bigger, so to be part of that is unbelievable," he said on the club's official website.
Collins has made 160 appearances for the club across two spells, having rejoined the club in 2012 after a three-year period with Premier League rivals Aston Villa.
He has, though, only made seven league appearances this season with Winston Reid, James Tomkins and new recruit Angelo Ogbonna all seemingly ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Wales international, who has been sent off against Watford and Astra Giurgiu in the Europa League this season, has started West Ham's last two games, helping them keep clean sheets against Stoke and Swansea.
And boss Slaven Bilic on Wednesday revealed he was eager to extend Collins' stay at the club, describing him as a "brilliant professional".
Collins said: "I'm obviously delighted to sign, as it was worrying me a bit that I'd have to leave again.
"I try to be professional, as I've been in teams where players make a negative effect when they're not playing, so I am just proud to be part of such an amazing club.
"I'm happy coming in every morning, whether I'm playing or not playing, and I train hard and try to keep myself fit.
"To be part of such a big club for such a long time, I'm a very lucky boy.
"To sign for another two years is something that, to be honest, looked doubtful at the start of the season, so I got my head down and trained hard and tried to show what I could do."

Leeds United 1-0 Preston: Disappointing return to Elland Road for Simon Grayson as Whites extend unbeaten run to four

Simon Grayson's return to Elland Road turned sour as Preston keeper Jordan Pickford was sent off after half an hour and Leeds banked a 1-0 win for their third victory in four games.

Pickford's early departure meant an unexpected debut for Preston's fourth-choice keeper Matt Hudson who was beaten by a headed own goal from Alan Browne just after the break.
Grayson received a warm welcome from Leeds supporters who remembered his achievement in guiding the club out of Sky Bet League One during his spell in charge.
Leeds keeper Marco Silvestri, outstanding throughout, made three top quality saves in the opening 10 minutes as Grayson's men went all-out attack.
First the Italian keeper pushed Paul Gallagher's curling free-kick round the near post. Then Joe Garner played Will Keane through the middle and Silvestri was quick to leave his line and deny the England Under-21 forward a scoring chance.
A minute later Silvestri was in action again, diving full length to his left to turn Garner's 25-yard shot behind for a corner.
After their hesitant start, Leeds forced a series of corners which were well defended but they should have opened the scoring in the 23rd minute.
Liam Bridcutt was allowed to make a long run down the middle and Chris Wood timed his run perfectly to receive his pass. However, the totally unmarked striker shot straight at Pickford.
With 30 minutes gone Preston suffered a controversial blow when Pickford was shown the red card. A long ball out of defence found Wood, and Pickford collided with him just outside the box.
The keeper endured a long lecture from referee Gavin Ward before being sent to the dressing room amid strong protests from his team-mates.
Hudson left the bench and former Liverpool midfielder John Welsh was sacrificed as Preston faced the rest of the match with 10 men.
When the free-kick was eventually taken, Giuseppe Bellusci lifted it just over the bar.
Hudson's first task was to gather a corner in the congested goalmouth and the youngster, who has been selected in England's elite goalkeeping camp, proved equal to the task.
However, the second half was less than 30 seconds old when Leeds winger Stuart Dallas crossed from the left and Preston midfielder Browne headed into his own net, giving Hudson no chance.
Browne was substituted in the 55th minute, enabling Neil Kilkenny to make an appearance against his old club.
Silvestri made two fine saves from Kilkenny and Marnick Vermijl's angled header as Steve Evans' side won.

Andy Murray has been crowned BBC Sports Personality of the Year for the second time at the SSE Arena in Belfast.

Tennis star Murray, who ended Great Britain's 79 year wait for a Davis Cup title, beat rugby league star Kevin Sinfield into second place with athletics icon Jessica Ennis-Hill in third.
Murray said "I didn't expect this - a friend actually sent me a message the other day with an article from a newspaper which said Andy Murray is duller than a weekend in Worthing, which I thought was a bit harsh - on Worthing.
"It's very humbling to be up here in front of so many great athletes - I'm just a great sports fan and I'm really nervous.
"This has been a five-year journey - we were right down at the bottom level or tennis and now we're ranked number one in the world and I never thought that would be possible."
Murray, who also picked up the Team of the Year award along with his Davis Cup team-mates, had started a narrow favourite to win the award over Ennis-Hill.
But a sustained campaign by the rugby league community paid off as Sinfield - the first nominee from his sport - pipped his fellow Yorkshire athlete into second place.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill was a popular winner of the Coach of the Year award after leading his nation to the Euro 2016 finals.
Jockey AP McCoy received the Lifetime Achievement Award after bringing his illustrious career to a close in April.
McCoy - who won the main Sports Personality prize in 2010 - retired after riding 4,357 winners and being crowned Champion Jockey 20 consecutive times.
Former All Blacks fly-half Dan Carter paid an emotional tribute to Jonah Lomu after picking up the BBC Overseas Sports Personality of the Year award.
The 33-year-old Carter ended his international career by leading New Zealand to a World Cup triumph in England in the summer. But the victory was overshadowed by the death of Lomu - who had won the same award in 1995 - in November.
Carter said: "He is an absolute legend of the sport and it was a shock to the people who knew him and the sporting community.
"He changed the sport forever. I was lucky enough to get to know him - he was such a caring and thoughtful guy and he will be missed by everyone."
List of winners:
Sports Personality: 1. Andy Murray, 2 Kevin Sinfield, 3. Jessica Ennis-Hill;
Coach of the Year: Michael O'Neill;
Team of the Year: Great Britain Davis Cup;
Overseas Personality: Dan Carter;
Young Personality; Ellie Downie;
Helen Rollason Award: Bailey Matthews;
Lifetime achievement: AP McCoy.

TEAM NEWS: Simon Mignolet and James Milner both out for Liverpool's trip to Watford

Liverpool are without goalkeeper Simon Mignolet for the trip to Watford

The Belgian shot-stopper, who has come in for some criticism in recent weeks after a series of uninspiring performances, has a hamstring problem and is replaced by Adam Bogdan.
James Milner also missed out for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, with the German opting to field Roberto Firmino in an unorthodox forward role.
It’s a return to the setup that comprehensively destroyed Manchester City at the Etihad last month.
Watford, meanwhile, are looking for a fourth straight win and remain unchanged from the side that won 1-0 at Sunderland last weekend.
Watford team: Gomes; Nyom, Britos, Cathcart, Ake; Capoue, Watson; Abdi, Deeney, Jurado; Ighalo

Watford 3-0 Liverpool: Ighalo stars again as Hornets sting hapless Reds

Watford made it four league wins on the bounce with a fully deserved victory over a below-par Liverpool outfit.

The damage was done in the first 15 minutes, with Nathan Ake capitalising on a horrible error by Adam Bogdan to score his first Hornets goal inside two minutes.
And they doubled their lead just over ten minutes later as Odion Ighalo grabbed his first of the game after latching onto Troy Deeney’s through ball.
Liverpool settled the ship after the break but were then picked off on the counter in the last five minutes as Ighalo headed home Valon Behrami’s perfect cross to bring his season tally to 12.
With just a point separating the sides prior to kick off, Bogdan’s first Premier League start got off to the worst possible start just two minutes in.
The Hungarian, deputising for the injured Simon Mignolet, dropped and then proceeded to fumble the ball straight to Ake who bundled over the line from a yard.
And after a quarter of an hour matters got much worse for Jurgen Klopp’s travelling Reds. Deeney outmuscled Lucas Leiva in midfield before lifting the ball into Ighalo’s path, who fended off pressure from Martin Skrtel to fire expertly in off the far post.
While Bogdan was looking uncertain, Skrtel and the returning Mamadou Sakho in front of him were just as unconvincing in a distinctly pedestrian performance.
Bogdan nearly gift-wrapped Watford a third on the half-hour mark, punching the ball straight at Lucas Leiva who, but for Skrtel’s clearance, would have deflected into his own net.
Skrtel soon limped off to be replaced by Divock Origi as Klopp desperately searched for more attacking impetus, and the young Belgian striker did test Heurelho Gomes just after the break, albeit tamely.
Bogdan then marginally redeemed himself for his calamitous first half with an instinctive save to deny Ighalo when one on one before Jordan Henderson had a dipping volley tipped over at the other end.
Klopp introduced Jordon Ibe and Christian Benteke for the ineffective Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino but it was Watford who would kill the game off in the dying stages.
After Liverpool squandered possession yet again in their own half, substitute Behrami raced down the right and crossed for Ighalo to head past the despairing Bogdan.
The result means the hosts have now won back-to-back home games for the first time in Premier League history and leaves them astonishingly just a point off the top four.
